In New York Two Weeks After Sandy, Life Far From Normal

Manhattan experienced a total of five days without electricity after the Oct. 29 storm, and is unlikely to be functioning normally for months. Residents of the Rockaways area, where many homes are still without power, are protected at night by police officers and National Guardsmen, and are asked regularly whether they have food, medicine, and supplies for their pets. These residents will also have to deal with numerous insurance concerns.
