The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced a three-year extension for Hurricane Sandy victims to use grant funds for flood mitigation projects. Victims will have three more years to access up to $30,000 in Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC) funding, which will help elevate homes or perform other work to protect homes from flooding. The victims of the hurricane would have had until Oct. 29, 2018, to access ICC funding, but with the extension, they will have until November 2021 to access those funds.
