Patricia A. Borowski Honored for 40 Years of Service to PIA
The national Board of Directors of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) adopted a proclamation on April 8, 2017 honoring Patricia A. Borowski, Senior Vice President of Industry Affairs, for her 40 years of service to PIA. The vote was unanimous—and enthusiastic. Borowski retired from her full-time positon with PIA; she will continue with PIA as advisor and special projects contractor.

“It is sometimes said that no one person can ever be synonymous with an organization,” said PIA National President Gary Blackwell. “Whoever said that has never met Pat Borowski. Through the years, and through the decades, Pat Borowski has had one over-arching concern—the well-being of PIA member agents.”
“It says something about PIA and about independent agents, that a brilliant professional—who could have worked for any number of industries, such as banking, chose instead to devote most of her professional life…to us,” Blackwell said. “Do you know how wonderful that is?”
“And although Pat is officially ‘retiring,’ that word belongs in air-quotes, because she will still be doing some work for us, just not every day.”
The resolution honoring Pat Borowski prompted many heartfelt statements of support from PIA National Board members, affiliate executives and PIA National staff members. Pat met with several PIA groups during the April meetings and thanked them.
Speaking of the proclamation, PIA National President Gary Blackwell said, “We will pass it and present it in a moment; but let me summarize all that it says:
“Pat Borowski—you are PIA…and PIA loves you.”
