PIA Submits Comments on DOL Overtime Rule
On August 31, 2017, a federal judge in Texas struck down an Obama administration rule that would have expanded mandatory overtime pay to include more than 4 million additional U.S. workers. Business groups and 21 states had challenged it. The decision came after the same judge last year blocked the rule from taking effect, pending his final decision. The Trump administration had already said it would make changes to the rule, and, earlier this year, while the Texas decision was pending, the Trump administration’s Department of Labor requested comment on this rule. PIA National submitted these comments this week.
